Lily’s Light will host its 4th annual “Kites for a Cure,” a family kite fly benefiting Uniting Against Lung Cancer on Saturday, November 3rd, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. (rain or shine) at Tropical Park’s The Hill (Pavilion 10) in Miami, FL. For a donation of $25, guests receive snacks, their own kite to decorate and keep, and more.

As many as 200 people are expected to gather at Tropical Park, decorating their kites with special messages for family members and friends, or general messages of love and hope in an effort raise lung cancer awareness.

Lily’s Light was created in 2009 in memory of Lily Plaza, a South Florida local and non-smoker who passed away from lung cancer in 2008. Lily’s Light is a partner of Uniting Against Lung Cancer, a national lung cancer research foundation which in just nine years has awarded over $8.5 million in research grants into diagnosis, treatment and a cure for the disease. Lung cancer is the nation’s leading cause of cancer death, but lags behind other cancers in awareness and funding for research.
