Dine Out And Help Keep Kids In School
Kitchen 305 Partners with Communities In Schools of Miami to Donate 20% of Dinner Sales To Keeping Local Students Succeeding In School

Miami-Dade County Superintendent Alberto Carvalho recently made a pledge to increase Dade County’s graduation rate to 90 percent in the next two years. Historically recognized as one the lowest performing school districts in the entire country, Miami is also known as one of the wealthiest cities in the word.

In support of keeping local, at-risk students in school, Kitchen 305 has partnered with Communities In Schools of Miami (CIS) to donate 20% percent of sales from Friday, July 27th through Sunday, July 29th to help CIS continue to provide free tutoring, mentoring, counseling, life skills programs and after-school and summer camps geared to help students to stay in school and prepare for life.

To kickoff the fundraiser, Kitchen 305 is hosting a dinner for Elizabeth Mejia, CIS of Miami’s Executive Director and Cecilia Gutierrez-Abety, CIS of Miami Board Member and their special guests of honor Dr. Nikolai and Rachel Vitti, Assistant Superintendent of Miami Dade County Public Schools, Dr. Pablo Ortiz, 2011-2012 Principal of the Year, and Modesto Gutierrez Abety, CEO of the Children’s Trust, a major investor in CIS of Miami’s programs.

CIS will allocate all proceeds toward helping thousands of students throughout Miami-Dade County. Through this partnership, CIS will be able to expand its reach to Miami’s most challenging neighborhoods and continue to provide dropout prevention services, college access and career readiness programs, mentorship and leadership opportunities as well as initiatives that help teen mothers stay in school.
