The Area Stage Company and Theatre Conservatory is very excited to announce the premiere of PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH JR. on Friday, August 3rd at 7:00 P.M.

Dubbed “a colorful symphony” by the New York Times, THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH JR. is about a young boy named Milo, who, even surrounded by toys, is bored out of his mind. One day, however, he awakens to discover a strange package in his bedroom, later to be revealed as the Tollbooth. Soon, he finds himself going on an adventure to rescue princesses with a sidekick watchdog—quite literally a dog with an alarm clock attached to his torso—and all the while realizing that he’s really not bored at all; he just lacked a bit of imagination. The incredible musical pieces for THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH JR. were composed and written by Arnold Black and Sheldon Harnick; Harnick also wrote the adaptation of the children’s book with Norton Juster.

Jr. Conservatory students starring in the production include Amanda Aviles, Mattson Barreira, Kai Bierman, Edward Burch, Gala Calvar-Jimenez, Torivia Castro, Drue Diaz, Arianna Dumenigo, Luciana Garcia de Jalon, Caroline Glasser, Hana Hernandez, Justin Hill, Serena Hill, Jordan Ives, Makhi Joseph, Cristian Lopez, Peter Lopez, Olga Lopez, Derek Mont-Ros, Maya Pace, Ashley Pennie, Adam Rothkopf, Charly Rousseau, Sophia Salgueiro, Taylor Shaw, Esmeralda Swietelsky, Isabella Velarde, and Rohit Yavagal.
