The expanded calendar for 2013 is the organization’s largest edition to date in the number of men featured within the new 13.5″ x 9.5″ format.

“For 20 years, our South Florida Fighters have been proud to shed their inhibitions in the name of local charities,” said Lt. Luis Espinosa, calendar creator and South Florida Firefighters president. “And, this year we’re celebrating our community commitment by showcasing even more men to appreciate – 37 in all – gloriously captured in a larger print format. Bring lots of water to our Seminole Paradise unveiling, as temperatures are destined to rise.”

Additionally, this year’s calendar will feature a special retrospective of hotties from previous editions.

Founded in 1992 by firefighter and actor/model Luis Espinosa, the South Florida Firefighters Calendar has helped raise awareness about important community issues. To date, the non-profit organization has raised over $250,000 to benefit charities such as the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, Habitat for Humanity’s Hurricane Andrew Fund, Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities, Neighbors 4 Neighbors, Best Buddies, Cystic Fibrosis, A Safe Haven for Newborns, Friends Forever Rescue and Here’s Help.

Additionally, in honor of the calendar’s 20th anniversary, this year’s firefighters have launched a new educational initiative to mentor high school students in the South Florida area. Once a month, the firefighters will meet with area students for two hours to help our youth become responsible, caring citizens by engaging in positive behaviors and enabling mentees to develop their character, academic interest and leadership abilities.
