Latin Taste Fest announced today that Feeding South Florida will be the exclusive Charity Partner of Latin Taste Fest-Miami. This first Latin Food, Wine, and Spirits Extravaganza is coming to South Florida in September, officially known as Hunger Action Month across the country.

In producing this extravagant event, Latin Taste Fest is bringing together some of the top names in the event industry and creating an unprecedented first annual event that will make its strategic partners, sponsors, an attendees proud to partake in the celebration, while giving back to the local community. Through its partnership with Feeding South Florida, Latin Taste Fest will bring awareness to hunger in America and donate a percentage of ticket sales to the non-for-profit organization.

In creating this premier food and beverage event showcasing a selection of Latin countries emphasizing in wineries and spirits, as well as, upscale cuisine from local caterers and restaurants, Latin Taste Fest plans to promote the Latino community-boasting a purchasing power of over $1 trillion-and demonstrate the high quality and diversity of foods and drinks this multicultural community brings to America. All meanwhile, the event will remain true to the company’s commitment to give back to a community and a country that has embraced Latinos, whether by birth or choice, and provides immeasurable opportunities, including the opportunity to give back and help other Americans through this event via Feeding South Florida. The not-for-profit organization provides food and other grocery products, and educates, and engages the community to fight hunger and poverty.

With every dollar donated providing seven pounds of food and grocery items, Feeding South Florida serves children in need, the working poor, the elderly, people living with AIDS, homeless, battered women and the mentally and physically handicapped who use the programs offered by partner agencies. Last year, Feeding South Florida distributed approximately 30 million pounds of food to nearly 600 agencies in the four counties and other food banks throughout the state of Florida. The wholesale value of 30 million pounds of food represents a savings of $50 million for the not-for-profit community. These much needed funds can then be used to expand or enhance existing programs within Feeding South Florida’s partner agencies.
