Funkshion Fashion Week Miami Beach will swim into its seventieth season in Miami Beach.

Debuted in 2003, Funkshion has brought Miami to the forefront of the Fashion World, working with designers from Miami, Latin America, New York City, Milan and Paris.

Funkshion offers an opportunity for designer collections to come to life, merging the worlds of fashion and music.

Wednesday 7/18
8PM Telemundo presenting Liliana Montoya – at the Tent
Mermaids By Montoya Swimwear , is a collection designed by Colombian, Liliana Montoya based in Miami Beach. Women coming from the sea delighting our senses with a collection inspired under the ocean, such multicolor fishes, scales, corals and algae, coral landscapes filled with a richness that goes into each bikini.

7:30PM Eco Swim – at the Tent
Eco Swim by Aqua Green is a sustainable-minded eco lifestyle collection that is committed to providing products that are better for you and for the planet. Our product focus is to take a leadership role in style, fashion and quality. It is imperative to provide the Eco Swim by AQUA GREEN consumer with an alternative that compliments a discerning mindset for leadership in style and fashion.
8:00pm SOTTO Resort – at the Tent
Designed and created by Colombian Born designer Claudia Sotto, Sotto Resort/2013 blends her most cherished colors and fabrics into her 2013 collection. Sotto, influenced and inspired via her travels throughout the Mediterranean, Caribbean, St. Barth, and St. Tropez, Sotto designed a 2013 Resort Collection truly created to enhance the sensuality of any woman’s silhouette.
8:30PM Julia Veli – at the Tent
Julia Veli is a local artist and designer who blends fashion and art by creating designs made from recycled materials such as newspaper, canvas, screen, vinyl, and now vintage clothing and accessories! This will be the debut of her first swim wear collection which is inspired by music and South Beach nightlife. Expect to see fashion forward pieces for both Men and Women that capture the energy and spirit of a night out in this amazing city! She will also be incorporating materials donated by local DJ school, Scratch Academy such as head phones, records and turntable parts which really bring the concept to life! It will certainly be something people have never seen!!
9pm Peroni presents Young Designer Award with Fashion Group International -at the Tent
Internaional fashion design contest sponsored by Peroni of Italy, The Fashion Group of South Florida, and Funkshion. The finalist designs will be presented in the fashion show on July 19 under the Funkshion Fashion Tent at 21st and 22nd Collins Avenue. The winner of this contest will receive a trip to New York City during Fashion Week and the opportunity to meet the internationally known designer Antonio Berardi.

Friday 7/20
7pm Ava and Toxic Sadie – at the Tent
The 2013 collection from Ava was inspired by Founder and Creative Director Paek June Farahan’s travels to the Mediterranean. Like the beaches of St. Tropez and Italy, the 2013 collection is rich in golds, blacks, browns and animal prints. In addition, some brights also encompass a big part of the swim collection. The resort wear line is extensive, offering multi-colored knits reminiscent of the amber sunsets and the blue water. For 2013, Toxic Sadie Designer, Erin Thomas took pale purple, cool turquoise, soothing earth tones, and added some flirty floral prints to set the mood – it¹s about lifting your spirit and being confident in who you are!
7:30pm Elle & Ella – at the Tent
After splish-splashing around the world, comes a collection inspired by the countless women met to celebrate their natural beauty and elegance. In its debut year, designer and world-traveler Leslie Santiago uses imported fabrics from Europe and Brazil, but made in the US, to deliver Elle & Ella: Port of Call 2013.
8pm Guria – at the Tent
Designer Camila Ckless delved into her Southern Brazilian upbringing to create a brand that embodies her country¹s endless summer culture. What resulted was Guria Beachwear, a swimwear line fit for any body shape, offering as much or as little coverage as desired in a young and contemporary way.
830PM Mandalynn – at the Tent
From Designer Amanda Dukehart of Mandalynn comes: Animal Blooms in Sherbert Seas 2013. Saturated fabrics from Italy are infused with leopard, floral, and geometric prints. Mandalynn ignites your spirit with interchangeable pieces and fabrics that effortlessly skim the contours of your body.
9pm Make A Wish with Nikki Poulos – at The Tent
MOMM Organization joins FUNKSHION Fashion Week to present “2 Model Wishes” in honor of Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. Following a series of events to grant the wish of Make-A-Wish child Melanie Garcia to have a modeling portfolio, MOMM Organization offers the opportunity of a lifetime for this teenager. Melanie will walk in Nikki Poulos’ fashion show at FUNKSHION’s main tent on July 20th, 2012. She will join last year’s “supermodel” Make-A-Wish child and 8000th Wish recipient Debbie Jacques on the runway.
