It’s that time again for the DWNTWN Miami Concert Series! The series features a free concert every second Friday of the month (except March and September) open to the public. During the summer months, concerts take place at the Olympia Theatre at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, providing downtowners a way to beat the heat while still having fun. Downtown residents and workers come mingle and enjoy great music in the heart of downtown Miami.

Join the Miami Downtown Development Authority Friday, July 13th for a FREE Concert at the Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts with performances by Grupo Treo and Los Primeros! As always, food and drinks are available. The doors open at 7:00pm.

With more than 6 million YouTube views, Grupo Treo is one of the hottest up and coming Latin bands from Venezuela. They fuse Latin rhythms that combines Latin pop with a touch of house and reggaeton. Grupo Treo has been leading the radio charts and Zumba classes nationally and internationally with their smash hits “Pegate,” “Mi Amor” and “A llorar a otra parte!”

Los Primeros will open the show! Los Primeros was rated “best pop band in South Florida, by Miami New Times, they blend Latin urban tropical sounds influenced by Anglo music, and their latest release “Tu Belleza,” is a rhythmic and infectious record for the masses.

Presented by the Miami DDA, additional sponsors include the Intercontinental Hotel Miami, Miami Children’s Museum and Miami New Times others involved include Embrace Events and Big Brothers Big Sisters. This season the Miami DDA has partnered up with Big Brothers Big Sisters for the Just Volunteer Miami initiative – a campaign to encourage volunteerism in Miami. The DWNTWN Concert Series is free to the public and held on the second Friday of every month during sunset happy hour. Food and drinks are available. The Miami Downtown Development Authority’s DWNTWN Miami Concert Series will now be held year-round as a result of a $100,000 matching grant awarded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The expanded concert series will continue to host monthly events during the winter months at Bayfront Park’s Tina Hills Pavillion and at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts during the summer.
