How does an unwieldy, artist-driven project find a permanent home, develop a board and become a non-profit organization, and plan for a sustainable future? These tricky topics, plus others, will be discussed by artists Jaimie Warren and Matt Roche, the co-founders and co-directors of Whoop Dee Doo.

Founded in 2006 and based in Kansas City, Missouri, Whoop Dee Doo is a non-profit, faux public access television show facilitated by a legion of artists and volunteers. Their live, edgy shows promote creativity, learning, and social tolerance, and have been featured at the Smart Museum of Art, The University of Chicago; Kemper Museum of Art, Kansas City; PICA, Portland; and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, among others.

SeminArt is a monthly program expressly designed to meet the educational and professional development needs of today’s artists. Thanks to generous funding by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation, SeminArt is served-up FREE and for ALL.

Whoop Dee Doo’s presentation is co-sponsored by Miami Dade College – Art Gallery System.
