Beach cleanup and flash mob living sculpture: on the beach behind the Shelborne Hotel

Efforts to raise environmental awareness don’t end in the month of April; organizations and communities work year around to take care of our planet and that is exactly what ArtMiami.TV and Greenpeace, in partnership with the Shelborne Hotel, are planning in doing in Miami Beach.

A pool party celebration will gather the first group of guests and volunteers, who later on will meet more people at the beach for an hour of clean up. As the night falls, volunteers and guests will be given a battery powered low energy LED flashlight to create a living sculpture of a light bulb, which will be captured via an eco-friendly battery operated drone with a camera filming from the air, to create a documentary. All events are open to the public.

The companies and organizations involved in this event understand the urgency of promoting environmental responsibility but also engaging the community and educating the new generations. This event serves such purposes as people become part of a video-documentary to raise awareness, while taking action working hand in hand.

ArtMiami.TV is an internet broadcasting company streaming new perspectives on the contemporary arts scene in South Florida. It promotes a greater understanding and appreciation of visual arts, artists, museums, galleries, art fairs, collectors and the communities that shaped them, by creating internet publications, video documentaries and interactive media.

Greenpeace is the largest independent direct-action environmental organization in the world, which doesn’t take funds from government or corporations, as their only bottom line is a green and peaceful future. As an independent global campaigning organisation, Greenpeace acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace.

Event partners include: Menin Hotels / Shelborne Hotel – Vitamin Water – Fisker Miami
