Broward Crime Stoppers and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will present the second annual Public Safety Expo in Seminole Paradise.

This expansive special event, South Florida’s largest public safety expo of its kind, will feature a showcase of custom, antique and state-of-the-art crime prevention vehicles, plus safety demonstrations and displays from over 30 area law enforcement agencies, including the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Seminole Police Department, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and other Federal and regional agencies.

New at this year’s expo is “The Remembrance Rescue Project,” a national campaign for 9/11 that serves as a mobile memorial to educate, honor and remember the events of 9/11 and all fallen firefighters. Rescue 4 is currently the only fire apparatus from 9/11 operating outside New York City.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. at center stage and will feature various guest speakers, entertainers including three-time UFC champ Jose Morales and salsa sensation Melina Almodovar and more.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office will also host “Story Time With Sheriff Al Lamberti” and will bring out its specialized vehicles including the Smart Car, Mobile Booking Unit, Mobile Command Unit, Mobile Crime Lab, a bomb and arson vehicle with a robot, a marked Challenger and a helicopter. The Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue will also bring back the popular “Paint A Truck”, a special vehicle designed for children to paint and decorate. McGruff, the Crime Dog, Sparky, the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue mascot and Deputy Quiggley, the official BSO mascot will be available for photos and meet and greets.

The Seminole Police Department and Broward Crime Stoppers will provide free child fingerprinting and photo opportunities, tours of the Sky Watch Helicopter and interactive crime prevention displays. Additionally, the Seminole Police Department will also offer safety information about how to escape from a sinking car.
