The Globe Presents The Ninth Annual Cubalibre Blockparty
Enjoy a Free open-air concert and all things Cuban in the heart of downtown Coral Gables benefiting Regis House.

Celebrating Cuba’s first Independence Day of 1902, this year’s concert line-up will be headlined by international singer / songwriter and multi- Grammy award winner Luis Enrique. Luis Enrique, best known as “El Principe De La Salsa”, is one of the most recognized tropical acts of the moment and promises a night full of music which will include songs from his latest albums Ciclos, and Soy y Sere, as well as his all-time classics and the international mega-hit Yo No Se Mañana. The Globe recommends that all blockparty attendees wear their best dancing shoes…

Opening the concert will be Miami’s own masters of Cuban son and guaracha, Conjunto Progreso whose set list includes classics from Cuban greats such as Ignacio Piñeiro, Miguelito Matamoros, Compay Segundo, Faustino Orasma, Ñico Saquito and many more. This year’s block party will also feature hand-picked vintage Cuban music by DJ “El Russo”. Immediately following the live outdoor concert, a special “Descarga After-Party” will be held inside The Globe from midnight to 2:00 a.m. hosted by DJ Nelly

In addition to the free concert, The Globe’s CubaLibre BlockParty will also feature professional salsa dancers from Salsa Lovers dance academy offering free lessons, JC’s Cigar Truck, Bacardi bars serving traditional Cuban cocktails, delicious street food, and many more surprises. As always, festival goers are encouraged to come decked-out in their best guayaberas and Cuban-chic attire to continue the block party’s golden age of Cuba theme.

The Globe’s CubaLibre BlockParty is sponsored by founding sponsor American Airlines as well as Heineken USA, Bacardi, MCCI Medical Group and Living Social, and once again will benefit Regis House – Miami Dade’s premier agency for behavioral health care services.
