Throughout the course of its 38 year history, Miami-Dade County’s Art in Public Places program has implemented some of the most inventive and inspired works of public art in the United States. With over 20 projects slated to open over the next two years, the program is aggressively pursuing ways to add dimension to our built environment. This lecture will provide a comprehensive overview of the new places and new artists who are enriching our public realm and in the process, defining the next era of public art.
Brandi Reddick, Communications and Artists Manager for Miami-Dade County’s
Art in Public Places program, oversees the program’s management of artists, from advisory committee and artist orientation meetings to public art project publicity and publications. Brandi has worked in the visual arts field for 15 years, including positions in galleries and museums, and has also served as an adjunct professor of Art History at the University of Miami.
