Overthrow is proud to announce that during Art Basel Miami 2011, they will be bringing their annual “Basel Castle” back to downtown Miami presented by Hyundai Motor America’s Re:Mix Lab. Saturday December 3rd, the full day event returns to the infamous medieval style venue known to the locals simply as The Overthrow Castle located at 41 NW 20th Street, in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood Art District. Aiming to top last year’s success, which won Miami New Times BEST OF 2010 “One Night (event)”, the creative collective is gathering some of biggest names in art, music, and fashion.

This year, in association with Dub Frequency, Basel Castle has teamed up with Hyundai’s new mobile gallery Re:Mix Lab as their presenting sponsor. Hyundai has customized three Velosters to be displayed at Basel Castle. Built to embody Music, Technology, and Gaming, each car will be featured as a masterpiece in RE:MIX LAB’s principle installation ” Exhibits in Collaboration.”

Further into the visual arts department, San Francisco based Tools Of The Trade (TOTT) Global will be setting up an interactive art experience by the following artists: Ron English, Mike Giant, Claw Money, Sean Desmond, Oliver Black, Mike Bode, Sam Flores, Jeremy Fish, and Greg Mike. The works include a TOTT group exhibit, live art walls, and oversized games handcrafted by the artists, there will be giant dice, dominoes, puzzles, and others, all custom designed by world famous artists. Attendees will have a shot to try their luck at these monster-‐sized gambles with a chance to win prizes designed by the artists as well.

As can be expected, the music is a powerful lineup of the most exciting rising talent paired with the best DJs. Live performance from Yelawolf, Penguin Prison, Bad Rabbits, Le Blorr, aligned with dj sets from indie dance rock superstar The Rapture, and Overthrow djs Tamara Sky, Damaged Goods, Heroes X Villains, and Troy Kurtz.
