Event Provides Parents and Caregivers the latest Drug Trends affecting South Florida

Informed Families/The Florida Family Partnership is continuing their monthly Lunch and Learn workshop series in an effort to help educate parents and educators in the community. The October Lunch and Learn workshop topic will focus on emerging drug trends in drug use and abuse affecting children. It’s a prime opportunity for parents and caregivers to understand what to look out for.

The event’s guest speaker is Jim Hall, Director of the Center for the Study and Prevention of Substance Abuse at Nova Southeastern University.

Jim Hall is a nationally recognized epidemiologist and expert in tracking drug trends. For nearly 30 years, he has followed patterns and trends of substance abuse in South Florida for the National Institute on Drug Abuse. First to report U.S. drug abuse of Rohypnol, also known as the “Date Rape Drug”, Hall is consistently ahead of the curve and is well known for his engaging and thought-provoking presentations in this area.

To R.S.V.P and/or order an $11 boxed lunch (event is free if guests bring their own lunch), interested parties are asked to send an e-mail to aferro@informedfamilies.org, visit www.informedfamilies.org or call 305-856-4886 for additional information.
