The Miami Food & Wine Culinary Experience will take place the weekend of October 15-16, 2011. This two day event aims to elevate the collective palate of South Florida through education. Local top chefs and beverage experts will host unique food and wine pairings, seminars and cooking demonstrations to cultivate a culinary lifestyle with fine wine. Presented by Selected Brands, all event proceeds will benefit the Miami Culinary Institute Scholarship Fund and United Way of Miami-Dade and.

The Miami Food & Wine Culinary Experience is broken down into several categories of events, Wine Dinners, Culinary Experience and Grand Tasting.

Wine Dinners
From Thursday, Oct. 13, through Saturday, Oct. 15, some of the best restaurants in Miami are helping to celebrate the Miami Food & Wine Culinary Experience by hosting intimate wine dinners. Participating restaurants include Meat Market, Joe’s Stone Crab, DB Bistro Moderne and De Rodriguez Cuba among others.
Culinary Experience

On Saturday, Oct. 15, guests can indulge in the spirit of culinary masterpieces and fine wine pairings at three different Culinary Experience tastings, including Seven Kitchens, the Culinary Theater and Tokyo Modern – all taking place at Miami Culinary Institute (MCI), 415 NE 2nd Ave #9104 in Downtown Miami.

Seven Kitchens, hosted by local chefs and sommeliers at state-of-the art kitchens at MCI, offers various tastings each focused on food and drink from different countries around the world. The Culinary Theater, offers four unique demonstrations in MCI’s professional culinary theater, including: Japan and authentic cuisine, paired to perfection; France and Italy with delicious creations; the science behind food and wine interactions; and an in-depth demonstration that shows chemistry in the glass and on the plate. Tokyo Modern is the last Culinary Experience event held on Saturday, where Japanese culinary experts will pair fresh sushi and sashimi with flights of sake.

Grand Tasting
The weekend finishes with a Grand Tasting at the waterfront Epic Lawn, located at 270 Biscayne Boulevard Way, on scenic Miami River. Guests will experience more than 100 different food and wine pairings will be exhibited side by side. Experts will be on hand to answer questions.
