Miami Seaquarium Hopetober for Breast Cancer Awareness Month October 2011

Miami Seaquarium will go pink this October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as it welcomes its guests with the opportunity to make a contribution to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and save 50 percent on general admission. The park also will encourage its visitors to get involved in other ways by transforming several park locations with the iconic pink color. The offer starts September 26 and runs until October 31. To participate, guests may visit www.facebook.com/MiamiSeaquarium for a donation form.

“Hopetober is a new campaign initiative aimed at creating awareness and funds for breast cancer research,” commented Andrew Hertz, General Manager. “We’re excited to be joining forces with Susan G. Komen for the Cure and its missions in education and research funding.”

Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is dedicated to saving lives and ending breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. Since its inception in 1996, the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Race For the Cure® and the Affiliate has raised approximately $12 million and has reached hundreds of thousands of women and men through educational outreach. In 2011 Harris Interactive named Komen the charity with the most brand value nationwide and the second most trusted non-profit organization in America. Komen also received CHARITY NAVIGATOR’S coveted four-star rating for the fifth year in a row. The 2011 Miami/Ft.
