Nelson Riveros has just released his first CD, entitled “Camino Al Barrio”. It is a Contemporary-Jazz recording with diverse Latin influences, featuring the talents of pianist Hector Martignon (Ray Barreto, Gato Barbieri, Paquito D’Rivera), bassist Armando Gola (Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Arturo Sandoval, Alejandro Sanz), drummer Ernesto Simpson (Arturo Sandoval, Richard Bona), and percussionist Samuel Torres (Arturo Sandoval, Richard Bona, Tito Puente), as well as special guests, vibraphonist Christos Rafalides (leader of “Manahattan Vibes”) and Andres Garcia, master of the 12-string Colombian Tiple. “Camino Al Barrio” reached number eight on the Jazz Week World Music Chart. Nelson was nominated for a Latin Jazz Corner Award (2010) in two categories: as Best Next Generation Artist and Best Latin Jazz Guitarist. He has performed in many venues in New Work, including Kavehaz, Cleopatra’s Needle, Tavern on The Green, and Miles Café.

Tonight he will be accompanied by Grammy-nominated piano virtuoso José Negroni and drummer extraordinaire Nomar Negroni, and legendary bassist Nicky Orta. Be sure to catch this outstanding artist, in Miami Beach for one night only.
