Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers

The Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers will hold their annual “Christmas in July” celebration at their campuses in Miami and Hollywood, Florida.

Celebrations will include showers, free haircuts and clothing give away to all adults, brand new shoes for the over 500 children in attendance, free health screenings, a great barbeque style meal and live entertainment including local bands and the Regeneration Singers, a group comprised of the formerly homeless resident of the Miami Rescue Mission.

A ‘Children’s Corner’ will also be open during the festivities and will include a bounce house, slide, snow cone and popcorn machine as well as other great activities. Special appearances will also be made by Mr. & Mrs. Claus as well as Uncle Sam.

Marilyn Brummitt, Director of Development for the Miami Rescue Mission and Broward Outreach Centers said of the event, “Our goal at the Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers is to see the homeless become “independent” citizens in our communities. What better time to have them begin that goal of independence than during our nation’s Independence Day weekend. We combine that with the gift-giving and celebration of Christmas to give our most needy children new shoes. The homeless will receive clothing and hygiene products along with healthcare screenings… these events are a great way to encourage them to get into our program so they can begin to transform their life.”
