Transit Antenna is a mobile living experiment conducted by successive teams that travel throughout the US researching off grid systems and making art. On April 9th , a new team from Miami – including the founding editor of ARTLURKER.com – is joining forces with Launch Arte’s Launch Miami Market to host a free community driven fundraiser event with a carnival fair theme in preparation for their embarkation in a vintage Greyhound coach converted to a waste vegetable oil and solar powered motor home.

The Transit Antenna Fun Fair Fundraiser will be a rare chance to see Miami arts at their weirdest as familiar faces from the community collaborate on a variety of engaging carnival attractions and strange services. Expect rides, games, sideshows, face painting, circus performers, live music, vendors, BBQ and refreshments in a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere.

Come see the coach, meet the team, take a tour and support the cause by learning about the Transit Antenna project, becoming an official underwriter, or just having fun.

Participating artists include: Farley Aguilar, Nick Arehart, Kevin Arrow, Bhakti Baxter, Domingo Castillo, Clifton Childree, Nathan Duvall, Cassidy Fry, Christy Gast, Jason Hedges, Rosie Herrera, Jay Hines, Annie Hollingsworth, Nicolas Lobo, Justin Long, Meatball, Ana Mendez, Federico Nessi, Manny Prieres, David Rohn, Oliver Sanchez, George Sanchez-Calderon, sleeper, Tatiana Vahan, Agustina Woodgate, Juan Carlos Zaldivar.

Performers include: Adam (Needless Records), BREAKFAST, Benton, Christy Gast, Eyelash, Ha Ha Help, The Heart Strings, Holly Hunt, Jesse Jackson, King Pubert, Kool Larhe K, Nags Head, Nosy Mangabes, The President, Simple Simon, Slashpine, Something that will make your mama smile, Trilobites, Viking Funeral.

Informed by group interests and the pearls of the open road, the Transit Antenna project evolves organically within the parameters of a (documented) creative workshop and educational resource. The current mission is to visit off grid projects and contribute to the dialogue on sustainability by applying research on alternative power, waste and agriculture systems in an art context at residencies, institutions, and community events.

Funds are needed for equipment, mechanical repairs and a project fund that will be utilized in the production of interactive public performances, installations and events.

The Transit Antenna Fun Fair Fundraiser is generously sponsored by: Artlurker, Augurari, Bert Rodriguez, Freegums, Locust Projects, Magners Irish Cider, Miami Design District, Min Treats, Primary Flight, Roofless Records, Swampspace, Sweat Records and WVO Deisgns.
