MIAMI SCIENCE MUSEUM HOSTS FREE* COMMUNITY DAYS WEEKDAYS IN SEPTEMBER
Residents of Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami are invited to the Miami Science Museum FREE of charge during MiaSci Community Days.

Miami Science Museum is proud to announce the launch of MiaSci Community Days, a series of free admission opportunities on select weekdays to ensure that each and every member of the community has the opportunity to visit the Museum. Residents of Miami-Dade County are invited to visit the Museum on weekdays between 3-6 p.m. from Monday, August 30th–Thursday, September 30th, excluding Labor Day. To celebrate the launch, the community-at-large is invited to a special event at the Museum on Sunday, August 29th, from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., free of charge.

“We are so pleased to invite the residents of our community to visit the Museum during MiaSci Community Days,” said Gillian Thomas, President and CEO, Miami Science Museum. “We are really looking forward to welcoming residents of the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County to the Museum to enjoy our current facility and learn what the future has in store for MiaSci.”

The event series was created to ensure that all community members are given the opportunity to visit and connect with the Museum. Guests will enjoy the Museum’s exhibits and programming as well as fun and exciting giveaways and activities. In addition, visitors will have a chance to hear about the new building, slated to open in Downtown Miami in 2014.

*Residents of Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami will be given free admission to the Museum with proof of address (driver’s license, voter registration or light bill) on designated days and times (August 30-31st and weekdays in September from 3-6 p.m. daily, excluding the Labor Day holiday). One proof of address is valid for up to four immediate family members. Offer only valid during designated MiaSci Community Days.

The Miami Science Museum aims to make a difference in people’s lives by inspiring them to appreciate the impact that science and technology can have on every facet of our world. For over 60 years, MiaSci’s award-winning educational programs, family-focused exhibits, historic planetarium, and rehabilitative Wildlife Center and Clinic have enriched locals and tourists alike. In 2014, the legacy continues, as MiaSci will be moving to a new world-class, state-of-the-art facility designed by Grimshaw Architects in the heart of downtown Miami. The Museum will remain operational at its current location on South Miami Avenue until completion of the new building. MiaSci is accredited by the American Association of Museums and is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.
