Pamela Wasabi’s Artist Statement
MIA POP –Fashion Street Photography
Pamela photographs how the underground culture is expressing itself through fashion. Fashion is not a matter of trends but a matter of self-expression and communication. It’s a direct mirror of what’s going on in our pop culture.
She is interested in seeing someone’s unique sense for style. There is no right or wrong, just creative people shaping the culture with their passions; this time, reflected through their choice of clothes. Pamela’s way of displaying her photography is through a collage where she juxtaposed the street fashion shots one next to another. The message is to show what culture is about: everyone. Not one picture can generalize what is happening today. It’s the conglomeration of everyone’s artistic input and everyone’s personality that can tell what our culture is made off. Pamela Wasabi is documenting it.
