ARE YOU FREE?

What shackles bind you? Are you tied up emotionally? Spiritually? Financially? Politically?

The resident and guest artists of CANDO Arts Co-Op have unleashed their creativity in a variety of media to express their feelings about what freedom means to them: having it, losing it, fighting for it. For one artist, it’s a commentary on women’s lib; for another, it’s a visual reminder of how fragile our society is, and yet for others it’s about physical barriers and how our hearts liberate us.

The interpretations are as varied and individual as the artists themselves and you can share their experiences at the Opening Reception of “Freedom ?: an art exhibition,” Friday, July 16, 4-9 p.m. at CANDO ARTS CO-OP, 309 23rd Street, Miami Beach, one block west of Collins Avenue.
