VOICES UNITED, AN ALL KIDS PERFORMING ARTS ORGANIZATION,
RELEASES RECORDING ALBUM: “LOST & FOUND”
Fundraising Celebration Friday, November 6th @ Las Tias in Wynwood Arts District

Voices United (VU), a Miami-based non-profit organization devoted to promoting cultural diversity through the arts, is honored to announce the release of their four song EP of original music, “Lost & Found.” An elegant Record Release Fundraiser, with a special appearance by NBC-6 anchor and reporter, Willard Shepard, will take place on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 7:30 p.m., Las Tias Art Gallery, 2834 N. Miami Ave. Miami, FL 33127.

With live performances by the Voices United Touring Company and Voices United alumni, Susie Green, Orlick Johnson Jr., and Miami’s own DJ HotPants, the evening will be an artistic culmination of music, fantastic food and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly. The “Lost & Found” EP will be on sale for $6.00 and amazing items such as a one-week stay at an exotic home in the Bahamas, as well as paintings and photography by local artists will be featured in a silent auction.

“I credit Voices United with cultivating my social awareness, expression and creativity. Not to mention, feeding my love for all people in understanding and collaboration. I am honored to perform for their Record Release Fundraiser,” said Susie Green, 33, singer/songwriter and Voices United alumnus. Green participated in Voices United from 1990-1992.

Featuring four original songs written and performed by 25 children ages 12-18, “Lost & Found” was recorded at The Franchise and The Hit Factory recording studios, this past summer. Representing diverse cultures, the young ensemble share their thoughts on various social issues such as violence and racism through this powerful recording album. Taking the reigns of this musical endeavor was Voices United’s musical director, Aaron Fishbein, a member of Scott Storch’s notorious hit-making crew who has turned out hits for the likes of Beyonce, Chris Brown, and Christina Aguilera. Joining Fishbein were Carlos “El Loco” Bodoya, a sound engineer/mixer who has worked with artists like Missy Elliott, Ciara and Weezer; Brett Simmons, a bassist who has worked with legendary musicians such as Fiona Apple and Brian Wilson of Beach Boys fame; Bob North, an organ player who has had the privilege of touring and recording as an organist and pianist with Chuck Berry, Howlin’ Wolf and Albert King; and Adam Ayan who has mastered albums by The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and The Foo Fighters .

Voices United is a non-profit organization for children, devoted to promoting unity and cross-cultural understanding through the arts.
