Bring your favorite plant, or a photo, story or artwork of the plant, & learn more about the history of your plant!!

Steven Woodmansee will show a slideshow and speak about plant families that have continuing importance in human history. Steve, born and raised in South Florida, has worked as a Naturalist for Miami-Dade County Park and Recreation Department, the Deering Estate, Fairchild Tropical Garden, and the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center.

Steve also has worked for 11+ years as Senior Biologist at the Institute for Regional Conservation in Miami. He has now struck out on his own with his business, Pro Native Consulting: stevewoodmansee@bellsouth.net

Bay Oaks, a historic retirement village located in Edgewater, is run by a nonprofit trust that seven society matrons established more than a half-century ago.
