The “Spicy Guava Margarita” made with tequila orange fresh guava fresh lime and fresh jalapeño is the crowd favorite. For a limited time, all specialty cocktails are available at a discount by the pitcher.

“It’s been a long journey with the reopening of the Wynwood Marketplace — we wanted to be extra cautious given the current climate and make sure to re-develop the venue to best suit the open-air and outdoor environment the community demands,” says Javi Zayas CEO of SWARM. “It’s an amazing feeling to be able to bring back 100s to work and allow for many families to thrive from the job opportunities created by the Wynwood Marketplace”

Looking to treat yourself to a little shopping spree? Shop our new mural wall — a double-stacked shipping container wall. This giant wall houses 12 Arts & Craft vendors all underneath a monthly rotating mural art piece. This photo opportunity/installation allows everyone to take a piece of Wynwood home.

In 1999, small town Narrowsburg, NY was poised to become the “Sundance of the East”—or so Jocelyne and Richard Castellano would have local residents believe. The organizers of the Narrowsburg Film Festival—a glamorous French film producer and her mafioso-turned-actor husband—promise to revitalize the town through film. As the duo secures local investment in a feature film production and convinces locals they can become stars, the stage is set for a stranger-than-fiction tale of Hollywood dreams, deceit and delusions.

The discussion and Q&A will feature Director and Producer Martha Shane.

For over a year now, COVID-19 has been negatively impacting many aspects of our lives, including our relationships.

For some, relationships were their primary way of coping with everyday life. For others, however, relationships were a pre-existing source of stress.

At Albizu University’s Miami Campus, we’re known for our intensive focus on high-level psychology. Whether you’re worried about relating to a significant other, family member or even a coworker, our psychologists and counselors can show you how to cope with the pandemic’s impact on all of your relationships.

Join us for a free, one-hour webinar with Albizu University’s top professors to learn some new relationship repair skills!

The event will explore the relationship conflict process, from what happens to our bodies physiologically during an argument, to differences and psychosocial influences among age groups in how we relate to one another.

Albizu professor and neuropsychologist Dr. Isaac Tourgeman will moderate the program, which will also explain how therapy can help you, and give suggestions on how to find a therapist who best fits your needs.

Coming to Boca Raton, Florida in Palm Beach County, Paletas Morelia will be moving its way up to the neighboring county. With beaches in the east and surrounded by golf courses, hotels, museums, shopping centers, and restaurants, the ice cream shop will surely feel right at home! Located in the Royal Palm Palace shopping mall at 125 Via Naranjas #45A Boca Raton, FL 33432, next to Yakitori Sake House and across the street from Cote France, guests can finally have a place to enjoy some sweet desserts have a full meal. We are bringing an experience that is more than just a popsicle or an ice cream. With the different amount of tasty combinations that the shop offers; our reviews on social media and Yelp (4.8 stars) states that Paletas Morelia gives the best experience!

What are paletas? Paletas are popsicles and Mexican Paletas are way bigger than normal ice pops, they are: hand-made, artisanal, and made with 100% natural ingredients. One of the first questions the ice cream shop gets when someone is visiting will surely be: “What are paletas made from?” Even though paletas may look like ordinary popsicles, this dessert is packed with a much larger punch that will make your taste buds dance. Morelia’s paletas are gourmet due to its top-quality ingredients; combined with both Italian Gelato and French Sorbet to give it that natural yet tasty flavor. Paletas at Morelia, are made from fresh natural fruits (such as Strawberry, Mango, Passionfruit, Pineapple, etc) or rich creamy ingredients (such as Belgian Chocolate, Sicilian Pistachio, Coconut, etc). The right mix of these main ingredients with secondary ingredients such as water, milk, condensed milk among others, opens up a whole world of flavor possibilities. Even though fruits are a common base ingredient for a typical Mexican paleta, milk-based ice cream paletas are also available. For those less interested in fruity flavors, our paleta shops also offer classic creamy flavor options (such as the Belgian Chocolate, OREO Cookies & Cream, Reese’s Peanut Butter, and Dulce de Leche filled with Dulce de Leche)!

To differentiate itself from other ice cream shops, the unique experience consists of the following process: 1) Pick it, 2) Dip it, 3) Top it. Among the store’s signature, craveable toppings are smores, marshmallow fluff torched, and Nutella drizzle. The shop offers over a million different combinations by adding dippings and toppings to enhance the ice cream experience and take the flavor to the next level. At Paletas Morelia, being creative and letting your imagination flow is highly recommended!

Guests can choose from up to 16 popsicle flavors including Pistachio, Passion Fruit, Belgian Chocolate, Banana filled with Nutella, and many more with several delicious dippings and toppings to top it off! All of Morelia’s paletas are Kosher certified by Kosher Miami (KDM).

Why the name Morelia? It is the capital city of the State of Mischoacán in Mexico, where it is believed the first paletas originated by people adding fresh fruit to ice and refresh from the high temperatures. The city of Morelia was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its well-preserved colonial buildings and layout of the historic center.

Since its first store opening in Coral Gables, Florida in 2016, Morelia Gourmet Paletas has worked hard to create The Best Ice Cream Experience in Miami. The chain now has nine locations in South Florida, six in the Dominican Republic, and one in Mexico. With two more locations on its way to Boca Raton, Florida and Charlotte, North Carolina in March of 2021, the ice cream shop continuously works on achieving its goal of bringing the best ice cream experience to the world.

Morelia Gourmet Paletas is excited to expand to other locations outside of South Florida and into new areas such as Charlotte, North Carolina. Morelia Gourmet Paletas hope to ensure more people can get creative and get The Best Ice Cream Experience!

History Fort Lauderdale, proud steward of our community’s past by making our heritage accessible and engaging to residents and visitors, will celebrate Women’s History Month and World Water Month with “Beyond the Shimmering Waters: Everglades + Immokalee Photography,” a visual narrative by award-winning artist Lisette Morales. The exhibit will open on Monday, March 8, International Women’s Day, with a special livestream virtual reception via YouTube where attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q & A with Morales, at 4 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through May 28 in the New River Inn (231 Southwest Second Avenue in Downtown Fort Lauderdale) and available digitally via History Fort Lauderdale’s YouTube channel.

“Beyond the Shimmering Waters: Everglades + Immokalee Photography,” is a project created entirely in 2020 and 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This exhibition at History Fort Lauderdale begins with a series of images highlighting Miccosukee Grandmother and Everglades conservationist Betty Osceola, Panther Clan, and her work promoting respect and awareness for our planet by organizing Indigenous prayer walks through the Everglades. It also highlights a collection of portraits of women who work or live in Immokalee and whose strength and perseverance are admirable and worthy.

Lisette Morales is a Nicaraguan-born photojournalist and interdisciplinary artist based in Florida. Her camera has been her tool for activism since the early ‘90s when she traveled through war-torn areas of Central America, documenting the disruption from military conflicts. After surviving domestic violence in her own life, Morales turned to painting and illustration as a mode of catharsis and self-expression. Her work echoes the feminist worldview that she now embodies and has been featured in numerous publications. In recent years, Morales has returned to photography as her media of choice. Morales was an official delegate to the United Nations Women 2018 Commission on the Status of Women. She is a member of the Artful Activist, Zuma Press, The Authority Collective, ArtAid Naples and Colectivo Liminal.

“Beyond the Shimmering Waters: Everglades + Immokalee Photography,” is one of several stories that History Fort Lauderdale is proud to offer during Women’s History Month. In addition to this exhibit, History Fort Lauderdale and The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale will also present “Women Trailblazers: Champions of Change – Broward County,” another photography exhibition, March 4 -31. This exhibit, to be displayed at The Galleria (2414 East Sunrise Blvd), will showcase six prominent women of today who are proponents of change along with historical female predecessors who helped to pave the way for our community. A ticketed exhibition preview and recognition ceremony honoring these women of today and benefiting History Fort Lauderdale will take place on Wednesday, March 3, at 5:30 p.m., at The Galleria. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/HFLWomenTrailblazers.

History Fort Lauderdale is currently open seven days a week from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with docent guided tours, daily, at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Group walking tours are available upon special request. Admission is $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and $7 for students (through age 22 with a valid student ID). Admission is free for members, military and children ages six and under. Tickets are available online at HistoryFortLauderdaleTickets.

In compliance with local and state health guidelines, visitors to History Fort Lauderdale will be required to wear a mask, have a digital temperature reading and practice safe social distancing of six feet apart. Hand sanitizer will be available at the front desk admission point and all surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned multiple times a day, per CDC guidelines. From songwriting gems by Chile’s Violetta Parra and Brazil’s Caetano Veloso, to original compositions for poems by Octavio Paz and Ruben Dario, Dreamers speaks to music’s capacity to defy oppression and keep hope alive.

Join Futura, Lee Quiñones, and PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans in a digital talk as they share stories and insights on New York’s art world, past and present. To commemorate Futura’s latest book “Futura-isms,” published by Princeton University Press in association with No More Rulers, Futura speaks with one of his most respected peers and longtime friend Lee Quiñones on growing up in New York’s seminal art movement of the 1980s. The graffiti icons and legendary artists reflect on their longstanding friendship and their processes in their street and studio practice. Artists who have both pioneered cross-disciplinary practices in their own way, Lee Quiñones and Futura reflect on their own evolving identities as artists, and what it means to be a cross-boundary creator today.

History Fort Lauderdale’s “Meet the Author” Zoom Series Launches with Donn Colee, Jr. 2/11/21

History Fort Lauderdale’s “Meet the Author” Zoom Series Launches with Donn Colee, Jr.
Thursday, 02/11/2021-, 12:00 pm-01:00 pm
RSVP / Register
Cost: Free

History Fort Lauderdale, proud steward of our community’s past by making our heritage accessible and engaging to residents and visitors, will launch the first segment of its “Meet the Author,” interactive Zoom series with Palm Beach County-based Donn R. Colee, Jr. author of Legends & Lore of Fort Lauderdale’s New River (Arcadia Publishing/The History Press), on February 11 at noon. The series, featuring local writers of all genres, will continue on the second Thursday of each month.

Colee Jr. is a seventh-generation Floridian and a direct descendent of George Colee, who immigrated to the St. Augustine area from England in 1821. Donn grew up in Orlando but frequently visited relatives in the ancient city, where his curiosity was piqued by stories about a massacre of long-ago family members at Fort Lauderdale’s New River. While the “Colee Massacre” story was later debunked, it refused to die. His Legends & Lore of Fort Lauderdale’s New River began as an attempt to finally resolve the last vestiges of that myth, but the power of New River quickly propelled the book to become a history of the river, its fascinating people, and the transformation of its wilderness into a metropolis. This is his second book. His first, Towers in the Sand, is the history of radio and television stations in Florida and the people who brought them to life. His family has been engaged in Florida broadcasting for three generations. Colee is a member of the Florida Historical Society, History Fort Lauderdale, St. Augustine Historical Society and Historical Society of Palm Beach County. He is a former commissioner of the Florida Inland Navigation District, the state agency responsible for maintenance and improvements of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway from Fernandina Beach to Key Biscayne. It was built by a company that was cofounded in 1881 by his great-great-great-grandfather, who became its civil engineer. Donn and his wife, Martha, reside in Palm Beach Gardens.

Upcoming authors will be announced. Viewers may register at http://bit.ly/HFLMeetTheAuthor .

History Fort Lauderdale is currently open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., with
docent guided tours, daily, at 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

Additionally, guests will be asked to sign-in, daily, for contact tracing.
